Travel Diary: Myanmar

Finally, I'm back from another refreshing trip to recuperate myself. A trip that was simple and yet fruitful. I've get to see life in simple perspective again (anyone that comes from a city life will understand and appreciate). This trip allows me see things in a way that joy can be achieved through simple means. So it was great to step away and relive the simple life. An experience I truly enjoy.

Yangon was the first destination I settled at. A bustling city, yet a simple living. Although this is a country where the locals went through tough times of the past, yet almost everyone treated each other with respect. Appreciation of the peace is what I saw from the faces of the locals.

With Love, KangWei and Jamie

Greetings and new year to all! Been away awhile and pardon me for disappearing in action. Just gone through what I presumed the best and the worst transition in my life so far, before I managed to stand up and post this up for you. There are things to say goodbye, and things to welcome, for this year in 2014. All the end of it all, may I bring to you another beautiful year to kick start my photo journey. A photo shoot I personally did with a loving couple. Enjoy the viewing pleasure with love.

Travel Diary: Annapurna, Nepal

In life, we made decisions that places ourselves into challenges to test our limits. Now, here is one that test the level of patience and perseverance that one could take. After months and months of training and preparation, we finally brought ourselves to Nepal to take on the mountains.

Moving along with guides, sherpa and porters indeed has change one's mindset and perspective. If not theirs then mine was. I saw joy through simplicity. No matter how tough the weather and terrain throws at us, smile is all they portrayed to everyone. No signs of burdens and worries, just trek and sing-a-long. Probably next time, we should try dealing first world problems with third world perspective. Maybe we could manage life easier and happier here in the city of Singapore.

This is one journey that that leaves me speechless on the beauty nature has shown. Thank God that I had the opportunity to experience it here and see it with my very own eyes. Indeed a blessing in disguise that I could be part of this team I am with. May I bring you around Annapurna region, Nepal.

Butoh - Art of body language

It was an honour to work along with Syv Bruzeau, a Butoh dancer/instructor. Whenever she makes her moves, it feels like her body takes control over her mind. The movement that filled with a freedom of self-expression. Miraculously, this dance could heals and improves life too. This is one art I believed, in order to understand it, one has to expereince by doing it.

A little background on Butoh dancing: Butoh is the collective name for a diverse range of activities, techniques and motivations for dance, performance, or movement inspired by the Ankoku-Butoh movement. It typically involves playful and grotesque imagery, taboo topics, extreme or absurd environments, and is traditionally performed in white body makeup with slow hyper-controlled motion, with or without an audience. There is no set style, and it may be purely conceptual with no movement at all. Its origins have been attributed to Japanese dance legends Tatsumi Hijikata and Kazuo Ohno.

You may find out more of her stuffs here

A Port I Called Home

This is the port I called home. Although filled with imperfection and stress could be part of the equation, there is still the presence of beauty one would appreciates only if they know the roots.

Travel Diary: Italy

This is one of the place on earth that I had been dying to explore. A country rich with culture and history, fascinates me at all angles. I was stunned seeing the real thing right in front of me. Beauty is what I can only describe in words when I explore from place to place within. For two weeks, I've been traveling non-stop from central (Rome) to north (Venice, Tuscany...) then back to slight south (Naples). Catching the breathless view from architectures to nature. I'll leave the rest of it to the images. Enjoy the wonder.

SPORE Art Salon 28th Edition

This edition has started to be filled with adult content that was more freely expressed. Censorship was never a consideration for freedom of self-expression. I personally respect the courage and self-being that each artist had portrayed themselves through mind, body and soul. I believe everyone there appreciates it too. Another awesome session...

Note: The following content is not for the faint-hearted souls that doesn't give art a damn. But do keep the destructive criticism to yourself. Author has also went through the permission of fine art drawing model for photography.
